Current Positions - Cardiac Sonographer

Working under the supervision of the Field Operations Manager, this position is responsible for performing diagnostic quality echo/vascular/arterial and general (if applicable) sonography studies using 2D, M-Mode, color flow, pulsed and continuous wave Doppler following Frontera protocols.  A Frontera cardiovascular sonographer is required to have a detailed understanding of anatomy, physiology and hemodynamics.  They must also be able to recognize abnormalities and form accurate and timely preliminary reports for Frontera Medical Reviewers.  Sonographers are expected to provide exceptional customer service and show respect to clients, patients and fellow team members.  The ability to interact and adapt with poise and professionalism to different circumstances which can arise when dealing with many separate clients and their staff is critical.  Additionally, a Frontera cardiovascular sonographer must have the capability to adjust to and manage changes in a timely manner to service our clients and their patients. 
Duties And Responsibilities
  • Perform studies on Biosound equipment provided by Frontera.
  • Complete daily operational and administrative duties including daily upload notifications, billing charge captures, testing forecasts, and delivery of patient paperwork to the business office.
  • Transport equipment to and from practices daily, often involving travel to more than one practice within a day.
  • Follow HIPAA standards and Frontera policy when handling and transferring confidential patient data.
  • Participate in company Rockefeller Habits initiatives including daily huddles and developing and delivering quarterly goals.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, teammates, and colleagues at all levels.
  • Assist in account management of practices by organizing schedules, scheduling patients, and educating staff and physicians on testing modalities, procedures, and processes.
  • Support and assist Account Manager and Field Operations Manager in building and maintaining relationships, generating new business opportunities, and the development of market growth strategies.
  • Actively participate in monthly market and in-service Sonography meetings.
  • Independently troubleshoot issues in the field when they arise and deliver prompt solutions, requesting assistance when needed.
  • Clean and maintain all clinical equipment in compliance with ICAEL and ICAVL accreditation and Frontera standards.
  • Order replacement equipment and supplies through approved vendors
  • Complete and maintain required certifications, registries, and continuing education.
  • Education:  Graduation from an accredited cardiovascular technology education program or ultrasound/echo program is preferred.
  • Experience: Two – four years allied health experience.
  • Current ARDMS or CCI registries (in cardiac and vascular) and BLS or ACLS certifications.
  • Vascular and general registries are a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and follow protocol.
  • Ability to define challenges, analyze problems, and develop and implement solutions in a proactive and positive manner.
  • High attention to detail in fast paced and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining a high level of productivity.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees of organization.
  • Demonstration of computer skills and the ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
  • A valid driver’s license to operate a vehicle for transportation of equipment, a reliable means of transportation, and an acceptable driving record.
Working Environment
  • Primary duties are performed client’s locations requiring travel by automobile with exposure to changing weather conditions.
  • Position requires the ability to constantly communicate verbally by talking.  Position also requires frequent walking, standing, reaching, bending, kneeling, and crouching.  Pushing, pulling, lifting, and moving equipment into and out of client’s offices are a daily part of the essential job requirements necessary to perform diagnostic testing on patients.  The ability to push, pull, lift, and move up to 35 pounds is required.  Daily duties also require the use of a computer and other equipment that must use the fingers and hands to feel and grasp.
