Current Positions - Exercise Physiologist

Summary
Working under the supervision of the Field Operations Manager, this position is responsible for administering and monitoring 12-Lead Cardiopulmonary diagnostic stress tests and Pulmonary Function exams in a field setting following Frontera protocols.  Exercise Physiologists (EP) are required to and must have the capability to transport and move equipment into and out of physicians offices daily.  Additionally, EP’s in this position are required to assist with maintaining client accounts by means of educating physicians on clinical diagnoses and purposes for testing and have a general understanding of billing/insurance. The candidate must also be able to demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills and have the ability to interact and adapt with professionalism to different circumstances and people. 
 
Duties And Responsibilities
  • Complete ECG’s, pulmonary function tests, and other metabolic analyses on patients.
  • Complete daily operational and administrative duties including daily upload notifications, billing charge captures, testing forecasts, and delivery of patient paperwork to the business office.
  • Transport equipment to and from practices daily, often involving travel to more than one practice within a day.
  • Follow HIPAA standards and Frontera policy when handling and transferring confidential patient data.
  • Participate in company Rockefeller Habits initiatives including daily huddles and developing and delivering quarterly goals.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, teammates, and colleagues at all levels.
  • Assist in account management of practices by organizing schedules, scheduling patients, and educating staff and physicians on testing modalities, procedures, and processes.
  • Support Account Manager and Field Operations Manager in building and maintaining relationships, generating new business opportunities, and the development of market growth strategies.
  • Actively participate in monthly market meetings.
  • Independently troubleshoot issues in the field when they arise and deliver prompt solutions, requesting assistance when needed.
  • Clean and maintain all clinical equipment and work vehicle in compliance with Frontera standards.
  • Order replacement equipment and supplies and exchange gas tanks through approved vendors.
  • Complete and maintain required certifications and continuing education, including CPR, ACLS and Certified Cardiographic Technician.
 
Qualifications
  • Education: Degree in Exercise Physiology or related field from an accredited university or college (Master’s preferred).
  • Experience: Two plus year preferred
  • Current ACLS Certification.
  • Demonstration of past clinical stress testing and pulmonary function testing within a healthcare provider or university setting under physician supervision.
  • Knowledge of oxygen consumption (VO2) as a cardiac/circulatory measure.
  • Ability to read and interpret 12-lead ECGs.
  • Knowledge of the benefits of gas exchange and Anaerobic Threshold (AT).
  • Knowledge of appropriate indications for exercise testing.
  • Ability to work independently and follow protocol
  • Ability to define challenges, analyzes problems, and develops and implements solutions in a proactive and positive manner.
  • High attention to detail in fast paced and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining a high level of productivity.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees of organization.
  • Demonstration of computer skills and the ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
  • A valid Texas driver’s license to operate a vehicle for transportation of equipment along with an acceptable driving record.
 
Working Environment
  • Primary duties are performed client’s locations requiring travel by automobile with exposure to changing weather conditions.
  • Position requires the ability to constantly communicate verbally by talking.  Position also requires frequent walking, standing, reaching, bending, kneeling, and crouching.  Pushing, pulling, lifting, and moving equipment into and out of client’s offices are a daily part of the essential job requirements necessary to perform diagnostic testing on patients.  Equipment of significant weight up to 225 pounds per equipment piece is supported on a cart and wheels.  The ability to manipulate the equipment into and out of the company van is required.  The motions necessary to perform this task require two to three trips between the office and van used to transport the equipment.  Pushing, pulling, lifting, and moving up to 45 pounds of exertion and force is required.  Daily duties also require the use of a computer and other equipment that must use the fingers and hands to feel and grasp.
